A summer’s evening boating on the Arun & Wey canal with good friends, old and new, is truly time well spent! The ‘Hello Hookwood’ crew are to be congratulated for
Coaches delivered the forty or so participants promptly to the first stop on their trip, The Onslow Arms in picturesque Loxwood. Welcome sustenance was quaffed
with enthusiasm to prepare for the nautical ardours ahead!
Suitably fortified the gallant forty walked to their ‘ship’ and each, in their own unique style boarded the vessel, mariners in spirit all!
Filled with the spirit of adventure our intrepid bunch were soon filling themselves from the delicious buffet, provided by The Onslow Arms and quaffing from the ship’s
stock of fine wines.
As the craft silently slipped from the embrace of Onslow’s arms and slowly made its way past the foliage that surrounds Baldwin’s Knob, the explorers raffled, ate,
drank and chatted their way on a water calm cruise that added a subtle peace to the mirth of the company.
Judging by the reaction of all the participants to the fun and fellowship they experienced on the evening, it’s anticipated that the next event will be strongly supported.
You are urged to look out for the next exciting event and make sure you get your reservations in in good time to avoid disappointment!
